Weber Grill Restaurant Opens its doors to Indianapolis
PALATINE, Illinois (June 25, 2007)
Weber Grill Restaurant, an upscale casual restaurant specializing in steaks and classic American barbecue prepared over authentic Weber® kettle grills, will open the doors to its newest, 10,000 square foot, location in downtown Indianapolis on Tuesday, July 2, 2007. Located in the Circle Centre Mall at 10 N. Illinois St., this will be the fourth Weber Grill Restaurant and the first to open outside of the Chicagoland area.
“We’re very excited about our Indianapolis debut,” said Ryan Miller, general manager of Weber Grill Restaurant Indianapolis. “We looked at a number of Midwestern cities and thought the restaurant’s unique, upscale dining experience would be a perfect fit for the Indianapolis metropolitan area. I’m confident our menu will please the people of Indianapolis—including grilling fanatics, foodies, families and everyone else in between.”
Weber Grill Restaurant’s well-rounded menu features seared Angus steaks and chops, fresh grilled seafood, barbeque classics, charcoal-fired burgers, seasonal salads, all prepared to order. In addition to its grilled food, the restaurant offers Smokey Joe’s Bar, an upscale full service bar with signature cocktails and an extensive wine list.
Weber Grill Restaurant is built on the legendary Weber Kettle Grill, which was born fifty years ago when George Stephen Sr. set out to build a better grill that would protect his steaks from the weather—while sealing in a tasty smoked flavor. At Weber Bros. Metal Works where he was employed, Stephen cut a metal buoy in half and fashioned a dome shaped grill with a rounded lid—and the classic original Weber kettle grill was born. His invention quickly gained a loyal audience, and ultimately became a prominent symbol of Americana.
In 1989, the company took its grilling expertise to the restaurant arena by opening the first Weber Grill Restaurant in Wheeling, Ill. After more than a decade of success at that location, four new locations opened up, including the newest in Indianapolis.
Restaurant Details
Weber Grill Restaurant’s new downtown Indianapolis location will be open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 9 p.m. Smokey Joe’s Bar opens the same time as the restaurant every day and closes one hour later than the restaurant. The restaurant seats 350, and also offers private rooms for parties ranging in size from 15 to 95 people. Regular reservations can be made by calling (317) 636-7600 or online. Menu Highlights
Signature favorites at Weber Grill Restaurant include Flame-Seared Steaks served with a choice of Garlic Mashed or Baked Potato; 10 ounce Charcoal-Fired Burgers of Black Angus Beef served with French Fries and a Pickle; and a variety of Classic American Barbeque entrées, which are all served with Cornbread, Jim Beam Bourbon Baked Beans and Coleslaw. In addition to the signature favorites, there is a breadth of offerings including pizza, salads and chicken and fish selections.
Weber Grill Restaurant also offers a kids’ menu featuring classics such as Baby Back Rib Fingers, Hot Dogs, Cheeseburgers, Chicken Tenders and Grilled Cheese.
Nestled within every Weber Grill Restaurant is Smokey Joe's Bar—it's the ultimate upscale dining, drinking and sports experience, a great place to meet friends after work. The restaurant offers an extensive wine list, as well as its signature drink, The Smokey Joe Martini with blue-cheese stuffed olives, or many other specialty drinks including hard lemonades or Sangria.
In addition, Weber Grill Restaurant offers a BBQ Catering (carry out) menu, which includes combinations of barbeque favorites or mini-sandwiches on trays designed for a minimum of 10 guests. Entrées and side dishes are also available to be ordered by the pound/quart.
